Central Office Manager
The San Fernando Valley Intergroup/Central Office is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose is to support local A.A. groups and help individuals seeking sobriety connect with Alcoholics Anonymous. The Central Office Manager is responsible to the Board of Directors for the overall operational, financial, and administrative management of the Central Office and Bookstore. The Manager ensures that all services, activities, and initiatives are conducted in accordance with the A.A. Twelve Traditions, Twelve Concepts for World Service, SFV Intergroup policies, and Board directives.
This position requires a servant-leader who can balance sound business practices with a deep commitment to the principles and service mission of Alcoholics Anonymous.
The Central Office Manager provides leadership to staff and volunteers, oversees daily operations, manages financial obligations, maintains inventory and facilities, supports A.A. service entities throughout the San Fernando Valley, and serves as a primary liaison between the office, the Board of Directors, A.A. groups, volunteers, vendors, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of continuous sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous.
- Minimum three to five (3–5) years of management, administrative, or supervisory experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Experience supervising employees and/or volunteers.
- Thorough understanding of the A.A. Twelve Traditions and familiarity with the Twelve Concepts for World Service.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and people skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage competing demands.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Proficiency with business software applications, including Zoom, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat (PDF), and accounting systems.
- Ability to learn and utilize inventory, point-of-sale, website, and monetary management software, including Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal.
- Ability to lift thirty-five (35) pounds and use a ladder or step stool when needed for inventory and bookstore operations.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $65,000 annually ($1,250 per week) to $75,000 annually ($1,442 per week).
Benefits: Vacation — three (3) weeks in the first year and four (4) weeks after five years — including twelve (12) days of Paid Time Off (PTO) and twelve (12) paid holidays. Medical benefits are negotiable.
